Energy Appraisals – Employees at JTM consulting are certified Energy Appraisers. The Insulation Energy Appraisal Program is a major industry initiative designed to give facility/energy managers a better understanding of the true dollar and performance value of an insulated system. Developed by the National Insulation Association (NIA) this program is a tool that quantifies the amount of energy and actual dollars a facility is losing with its current in-place insulation system. It also demonstrates how a more efficient system can:
-
Save hundreds of thousands of Btu’s
-
Improve process control and efficiency
-
Reduce fuel costs
-
Contribute to a cleaner environment
Corrosion Protection – If you have a process running at -160 F to 1200 F in temperature you are at risk for Corrosion-under-insulation. Corrosion-under-Insulation is one of the largest maintenance items facing the Petrochemical markets over the next several years. We can help design insulation systems that will reduce your CUI exposure and reduce risks. A good anti-corrosion program is a three fold process and we can help design or recommend materials that will minimize the corrosion.
Infrared Thermography –At JTM Consulting LLC we have the capability of doing Infrared Imaging for process control. Infrared thermography is the latest technology used to help assess process and piping temperatures. We use this technology along with our heat flow analysis programs to help make recommendations on ways to:
Insulation Material Specifications – JTM consulting LLC has been working with major companies to writing up their Insulation specifications for their facilities. Whether you need a complete re-write or just and update detailing new materials or installation techniques we can assist in coming up with a solid Insulation specification that will assure better process control. We can do thickness tables, heat loss charts, and detailed drawings to assist any contractor working with you. Back to Top
Steady-State and Transient Heatflows – JTM Consulting LLC has several programs in house to do both transient and steady state heat flow analysis. We can do the following analyses using the steady-state program:
Transient heat flow analysis is an added feature to Steady State design that allows both time and temperature to be changed to see this affects many aspects of the process being simulated. This type of analysis is good for simulating :
Both a formal report and graphical analysis will be delivered.

Refractory Design and Recommendation – We have 20 years of experience in the Refractory and Insulation markets. At JTM consulting LLC we have helped major oil companies come up with refractory designs for such equipment as Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Units (FCCU), reformers, fire heaters, and sulfur recovery units (SRU’s). We believe in the philosophy that solid engineering design along with proper material choices will lead to a long term refractory solution.
